Felix Pie went down with a leg injury in Friday's game against the Indians. Now The team has just three healthy outfielders remaining, and the team may not afford to lose another outfielder. Manager Dave Trembley said Pie has a strained left quad and needs a reevaluation on Saturday. "That's tough," Pie said. "I'm in a lot of pain. I want to finish strong."
Pie had extended his hitting streak to four games with two hits on in the seventh. He came up lame and then laid on the ground on the first-base line holding his left leg while in clear pain. He was down for several minutes before he was finally helped off the field. Pie missed a few games earlier this month, because of an unrelated back problem.

Chipper will miss a few more games
The Braves managed to win several games without Chipper Jones in their lineup this weekend in St. Louis, and they may spend a few more days without their veteran third baseman.
Jones missed Tuesday night's series opener against the New York Mets with the strained left groin which he suffered during the ninth inning of Saturday's game against the Cardinals. When he played with approximately 50-60 percent effort on Tuesday afternoon, he still felt uncomfortable. "When I can get it to 75-80 percent and just kind of temper it, I'll get back in there," Jones said. He also said it is hopeful that he will be able to return to the Braves' lineup within the next few days. We look forward to seeing him playing on the field in his baseball jersey again.

Kids in general, no matter where they’re from or where they’re playing, they’re out there because they love it. They’re easy to teach and they want to learn. A program like this is great for kids to learn."

Hunter goes distance in Rangers' win
Rangers manager Ron Washington talked before Sunday's opener of a scheduled doubleheader about the importance of avoiding a mental tailspin with the wet Texas weather seemingly halting the team's momentum. Hunter collected his first complete game, improving his record to 8-3. Hunter is the second Rangers rookie to throw a complete game at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
